My Approach
We will shape it to whatever you need it to be.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a variety of different methods, ideas and approaches, adapting to the individual needs of each client. I offer an empathic and non-judgemental space for you to bring the thoughts and emotions that may be hard to express in other parts of your life. We will work together to understand how your past experiences have shaped your current world, as well as develop the capacity to find more choice in how you wish to be moving forwards.
For me, working inclusively means balancing empathy with holding a genuine respect for difference and an awareness of privilege. I aim to create a space where we can explore, with openness and curiosity, how identity and lived experience, such as culture, race, gender, sexuality, and class, may influence how you see yourself and how you relate to others, including in our work together.
I believe that the power of therapy lies in the capacity for the relationship to bend and shift around the evolving needs of the client. This sometimes takes the form of a gentle witnessing, ensuring you are seen and heard in ways that may have been lacking in the outside world. Other times, it may feel creative and experimental, offering you the opportunity to play with new ways of thinking and relating. We will shape it to whatever you need it to be.
Like the art of kintsugi, therapy honours the process of repair. Recognising that the places where we once felt broken, can become sources of strength, resilience, and beauty when tended to with care and awareness.
-
The therapeutic relationship itself is used as a tool to understand and experiment with what happens interpersonally and how this may be mirrored in other relationships in your wider world.
-
Person-centred therapy invites you to step into a space of acceptance and understanding, where your experiences are heard deeply and without judgment. Instead of putting the therapist in the ‘expert’ position this approach emphasises connecting you with your own inner resources, supporting you to discover your unique path toward growth and self-awareness.
-
Psychodynamic therapy invites an exploration of the hidden currents beneath everyday thoughts and feelings, tracing how early experiences and relational patterns continue to shape your life.
-
Trauma-informed therapy recognises the impact of traumatic experiences on the body, mind, and nervous system. By creating a safe, attuned and supportive space, we work gently to help you regulate, build resilience, and reconnect with a sense of safety and empowerment in your life.
-
Body psychotherapy recognises the deep connection between mind and body, using gentle somatic awareness and inquiry to explore how emotions, experiences, and memories are held and expressed physically.
-
Using Jungian concepts in therapy we explore archetypal imagery, symbolism, and dreams as a way of understanding unconscious patterns and making meaning from our inner world.
-
Attachment-informed psychotherapy examines how early experiences with care givers shapes adult relational patterns, emotional regulation and interpersonal dynamics.
-
Phenomenological inquiry is an Existential approach focusing on your lived experience in the present moment. It encourages self-awareness, insight, and a deeper understanding of how you experience yourself in the world.
-
I recognise that each person’s experiences are shaped by multiple aspects of identity, including culture, race, gender, sexuality, and class. In therapy, I strive to create a space where these differences are acknowledged and respected, and where we can explore how privilege and systemic factors may influence your experiences and well-being.
-
Through art therapy, creativity becomes a bridge to the inner world. Making and exploring images allows feelings, memories, and ideas to emerge, offering insight, healing, and a richer connection to oneself.
-
In working with different parts of the self, therapy becomes an exploration of the inner landscape. Each part carries its own feelings, memories, and wisdom, and by listening and connecting with them, you can bring understanding, healing, and unity to your inner world.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) use a combination of acupressure point tapping and guided emotional focus to address stress, anxiety, and emotional blocks. By supporting the nervous system and processing difficult emotions, EFT can enhance emotional regulation and well-being.
